 Dear Student Supervisor:
You are receiving this letter because you are supervising (or are going to be supervising) a student who is applying or has been accepted to the “Enhanced Placement” program of Philadelphia Connections.  Philadelphia Connections is a city-funded organization that promotes high quality behavioral health services in our Philadelphia community agencies through, among other efforts, the attraction and retention of the best and brightest students for field placements/internships and post-graduate employment.
For more information about the Enhanced Placement program, please visit our web site at:   www.philaconnect.org
You don’t need to do anything about making arrangements with anyone at your agency in order for the student you supervise to participate in the EP program!  This has already been taken care of.  The program involves your student using a total of five field placement/internship days during the school year—Mondays or Fridays—to attend seminars in topics like psychoactive medications or suicide assessment/prevention.
This letter is only intended to give you a brief explanation of the program for your understanding and background.
At the same time, we hope you will be interested in the Connections-funded seminar series that we offer free to field supervisors of students in our EP program.  The seminars focus on clinical supervision issues.  The seminars are free to you and, if needed, we will pay your agency for your time if there is a problem concerning a loss of your billable service hours.  You will receive notices of the seminars as they are scheduled.
The seminar series is one way we can express our appreciation to clinical staff like yourself who do the vital work of training the next generation of behavioral health professionals, while hopefully offering useful information and stimulating discussion with our presenters and your colleagues from other agencies.  If you would like further information about the program or have any suggestions about how we can supportive in other ways to you and other field supervisors, please do not hesitate to call either of us directly or through our Office Manager Luciane Green (see contact information below).
                                                                                    Sincerely,
                                                                                    Max Molinaro, Ph.D.
